Angling and Education Working Together

As a former secondary school teacher, I have a very good understanding of the challenges facing young people today. For some, the traditional curriculum may not suit, and alternative educational provision is appropriate. What better way to learn than out on the bank and at one with nature? I can also help students achieve qualifications from angling, ranging from a BTEC in Land-Based Studies, to CAST Awards from the Angling Trust. The schools I have worked with include:

  • Greensward Academy

  • Gable Hall School

  • Hassenbrook Academy

  • CSS Wickford

  • Earls Hall Primary School

  • Mayflower High School

  • Ramsden Hall Academy

  • Mid Essex Co-operative Academy

  • The Leaways School

“Michael has worked with our Trust for a number of years, securing a number of pupils recognised vocational qualifications. He has allowed us to provide in house alternative provision for pupils to keep them engaged with school and secure pathways for them post 16. He has worked with both individuals and small groups and supported pupils to do both the practical aspects as well as the written. He is well versed with BTEC qualifications and therefore can provide the whole package with limited additional support needed by the school. We would be happy to recommend him.."
